History

MaskTech was founded in 2002 as part of a management buyout from one of the largest contactless card and inlay manufacturer (sold more than 200 Mio. contactless inlays and contactless components) by security, RFID and computer sciences specialists.
The engineering team has security and RFID experience since 1990 and has set up a profound knowledge in those areas. The management worked several years in the quality management of the automotive industry. The quality process used in this sensitive area has been adapted to our software development process. Result of this constant quality improvement are products available in the 5th generation with absolute unique quality, performance and price.
Masktech MTCOS was the first ICAO compliant ROM masked operating system available on 72KB high security embedded crypto controller with RF interface in the market. The first product was presented to the public transport sector on the worldwide first RFID controller with PKI in 1999. In 2003 and 2004 the ePassport product has been presented together with NXP Semiconductors on the CARTES show in Paris. Meanwhile the product is in the 5th generation, available with CC EAL4+ certificate on NXP SmartMX series with 9 ... 144KB EEPROM - Infineon SLE66CLX series with 8 ... 80KB EEPROM - ATMEL Secure AVR AT90SC series with 8 ... 144KB EEPROM and ST Micorelectronics ST19NR series with 8 ... 66KB EEPROM.
The current year 2007 brought us the leadership in ePassports in both, the number of countries and the number of passports delivered in those countries.
